In the application of outdoor LED landscape lighting, special attention should be paid to the problem of waterproofing, because the penetration of water may cause short circuit of LED driving power and damage it. In order to be rigorous and waterproof, manufacturers will use various waterproof components. Whether it is the design of the shell or the internal potting, they will generally be strictly in accordance with the requirements of IP65 or even IP67. However, in actual use, there are still some LED drive power supplies. The phenomenon of damage due to waterproofing occurs due to the following reasons:
⑴. The construction personnel at the landscape lighting construction site have not received professional training, and they did not operate according to the instructions when installing the LED drive power supply. Problems such as installation angle, location, environment, wiring, sealing, etc. There is a waterproof problem.
⑵. Select low-quality LED driver power supply that does not meet the requirements of the waterproof level. The shell material of this kind of low-quality LED driver power supply is rough, and the assembly is irregular, causing water to enter the gap. The inside of the power supply uses potting glue with poor waterproof performance. The glue is not even glued, so it cannot effectively prevent the components on the PCB from being damaged by contact with water.
⑶. Failure to use in accordance with the restricted use conditions of the product, and the environment used exceeds the protection level of the product, resulting in successive damages to the final product during use.
